Mold prototyping is a key step before mass production mold development. It focuses on quickly manufacturing a small number of functional or aesthetic sample molds (prototype molds) to verify product design, test material properties, evaluate production process feasibility, and discover potential problems. Its core purpose is to perform design iterations and risk control before actually investing in high-cost mass production mold manufacturing to ensure that the final mold can efficiently and stably produce products that meet the requirements.
Mold making is the process of transforming a design into an actual production tool. It involves the precise processing of metals (such as steel) to form cavities and cores with specific shapes and sizes. The core steps include material preparation, precision machining (such as CNC milling, EDM), heat treatment strengthening, assembly, debugging and strict quality inspection. Its goal is to produce durable tools that can efficiently, stably and mass-produce products that meet design requirements. The quality, precision and life of the mold directly determine the quality and production cost of the final product, and it is the core link in the manufacture of plastic products.
Injection molding is a core process for the efficient and mass production of plastic parts. The principle is to heat and melt granular thermoplastics into a fluid state, and then quickly inject them into a closed metal mold cavity under high pressure. After the melt cools and solidifies in the cavity, the mold is opened to eject the molded plastic part. This process can produce products with complex shapes, precise dimensions and smooth surfaces. It is widely used in many fields such as automobiles, electronics, home appliances, daily necessities, etc., and is an indispensable part of modern manufacturing.
Finishing and assembly of plastic products are key post-processing stages after injection molding. Finishing aims to improve the appearance, function or dimensional accuracy of the product, including burr/flash removal, polishing, spraying, electroplating, silk screen printing, laser engraving and other processes. Assembly is to combine multiple plastic parts or other material parts into a final product or component through bonding, ultrasonic welding, hot melting, snap fastening, screw fastening and other methods. This stage directly affects the final quality, aesthetics and functionality of the product, and is the last guarantee link before product delivery.
